Lucas, 12: “Saving Games One Ball at a Time”
Meet Lucas, age 12, a soon to be Mega Professional goalkeeper and a regular user of the family account on Ajoin, the sports-sharing app that provides equipment for our cities’ sports fields. Connected through his mother’s account, Lucas is used to grabbing whatever his crew needs to get their game going. But when asked how he feels about it, his response is as laid-back as you’d expect from a kid his age.
“Do you like it?” He shrugs, “I guess.”
Despite using the app every day, Lucas doesn’t seem too impressed. He and his friends could manage without it. “There’s always a ball somewhere. One time I spotted one on the school rooftop from the classroom window. I’m pretty good at climbing the pipe to get it down.”
When pressed on his thoughts about the sharing system, Lucas offers another casual, “It’s alright.” It works well—most of the time. “The balls were gone once,” he recalls. “That sucked. The guy with the ball had to leave early, so the game ended.”
Still, Lucas isn’t too bothered. Even if the courts and pitches didn’t have equipment available, there’s always another ball waiting to be rescued—and he’ll find it every time.
